I have had the Asmedia ASM104x USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver installed since the installation of the motherboard last year. When I open device manager, and review all of the USB ports, they all appear to be 'working properly'. However the eight remaining USB 3.0 slots (on the motherboard itself) do not register any device attached to them. The USB 2.0 slots work fine, as do the two USB 3.0 slots on my case (plugged into the motherboard). The motherboard has eight USB 3.0 slots, two USB 2.0 slots, and a port to connect case USB 3.0 slots to. I purchased an MSI GAMING 7 motherboard last year, and I had this issue from the get-go. I figure that'll be fixed when the rest is, but I keep trying to use it. I then turned it off, and system restored it again to the last restore point.Īlso, the mouse scroll wheel hasn't worked this entire time I've been dealing with this. I did the typical 'try other ports, try other devices' shlick, with no reaction from the devices or computer.

I restarted the computer, and again the mouse and keyboard lasted until the 'starting Windows' screen before both turning off and not turning on. I installed the Intel driver successfully, but it killed the ports yet again. The ASMedia one installed with zero issues, as normal, but doesn't really change anything.

I then downloaded the two USB drivers from the motherboard site again. I then installed the management engine driver with no issues. However, when it booted back up, it started again and successfully installed it. The first time, it completely froze the computer to where I had to hard reset it. I then downloaded the Chipset and Management Engine (couldn't install because of lack of a Windows Update file) drivers freshly, and ran the chipset driver. Windows Update started working for whatever reason, so I downloaded ~2gb of updates over time and installed them with seemingly no problems.
